Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 pound sliced salami
  • 1 pound sliced pepperoni
  • 1 pound sliced ham
  • 1 pound provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Seasoning Mix

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Garnish

  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. Slice the Buns: Cut the slider buns in half horizontally, leaving them connected at the back to keep the layers intact.
  4. Layer Meats: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in the baking dish, then evenly layer the salami, pepperoni, and ham over the buns.
  5. Add Cheese: Place slices of provolone cheese on top of the meat layers, covering the entire surface.
  6. Spread Marinara Sauce: Drizzle the marinara sauce evenly over the layers of cheese to add moisture and flavor.
  7. Mix and Brush Seasonings: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture over the top halves of the buns.
  8. Assemble and Cover: Place the top halves of the buns over the sliders, then cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake Covered: Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese.
  10. Finish Baking Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5-10 minutes until the tops are golden and crispy.
  11. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and optionally garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving to add a fresh herbal note.

Notes

  • To prevent buns from getting soggy, ensure the marinara sauce is spread evenly but moderately.
  • You can substitute provolone with mozzarella or cheddar cheese according to preference.
  • For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or pepper flakes in the layering.
  • Make ahead by assembling the sliders and refrigerating them covered for up to 4 hours before baking.
  • Serve warm for best taste and melty texture.
