Mocha Latte Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 ounces espresso (2 shots) or 1/2 cup strongly brewed coffee
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Coffee: Make espresso shots using an espresso machine or brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee via your preferred method.
- Heat Milk and Chocolate: Pour the whole milk into a mason jar, filling it only halfway to allow space for frothing. Add 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup to the milk. Microwave the jar without the lid for 30 to 45 seconds until the milk is hot but not boiling.
- Froth Milk: Secure the lid tightly on the jar and shake it vigorously for 30 to 45 seconds until the milk becomes frothy and foamy. Be cautious when opening the jar as pressure may have built up.
- Assemble Latte: Pour the espresso or strong coffee into a mug. Pour the warmed milk into the mug, using a spoon to hold back the foam. Then spoon the foam on top of the drink.
- Add Toppings: Optionally, add a dollop of whipped cream and drizzle with extra chocolate syrup or sprinkle cocoa powder or chocolate shavings on top for added indulgence.
Notes
- Use whole milk for the creamiest texture; substitute with plant-based milk for a dairy-free version.
- Be careful when shaking the hot milk as pressure can build up inside the jar.
- You can adjust the amount of chocolate syrup to your desired sweetness and chocolate intensity.
- Strong brewed coffee is a good alternative if you don’t have an espresso machine.
- Microwaving times may vary depending on your microwave’s power.
