Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- ½ cup cold water
- ½ cup vodka
- 12 gummy eyeball candies
Instructions
- Dissolve Gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, add the strawberry gelatin powder and pour in 1 cup of boiling water. Whisk continuously until the gelatin powder is completely dissolved to create a smooth mixture.
- Add Liquids: Whisk in ½ cup cold water followed by ½ cup vodka to the gelatin mixture. Mix thoroughly to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Fill Jello Cups: Arrange 12 two-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to prevent spills. Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into each cup, filling them up to the fill line and leaving about â…› inch space from the top rim of each cup.
- Partially Set: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 1 to 1½ hours, or until the jello shots have partially set and are firm but still tacky to the touch. Then, gently place one gummy eyeball candy on top of each partially set jello shot.
- Fully Set and Chill: Return the tray with the gummy topped jello shots to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 1½ hours to overnight, allowing them to fully set and firm up before serving.
- Serve or Store: Once completely set, place lids onto each jello shot cup. Stack and store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve at your party.
Notes
- Use a rimmed tray to avoid spills while transferring the filled cups to the refrigerator.
- For best texture, allow the jello shots to set overnight.
- If you prefer a stronger or lighter alcohol taste, adjust the vodka quantity accordingly but keep the liquid volume balanced with cold water.
- You can substitute strawberry gelatin with any other flavor and matching gummy toppers for different effects.
